LLE hosted a DEI-focused Career Fair in conjunction with HBCU Connect, the largest network of students and alumni from historically black colleges and universities. The virtual event attracted over 70 attendees and offered an opportunity to connect graduates from historically black colleges and universities to 37 job openings at LLE, as well as promote what LLE can offer to professionals with diverse sets of skills. The career fair aligns with LLE’s mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and to expand its hiring pool to include more professionals from historically marginalized groups. A diverse workforce is vital to thriving science programs in the United States and to achieving meaningful change and creating an environment of inclusion. LLE is actively working toward building a more-diverse and inclusive research environment in support of the National Nuclear Security Agency within the Department of Energy.
