Neel Kabadi

Assistant Scientist

Dr. Neel Kabadi received his B.S. degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2015 and his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2021. His graduate thesis work focused on experimental investigations of Inertial Confinement Fusion, in particular the shock convergence phase. During his thesis work Dr. Kabadi conducted several days of experiments on the OMEGA laser at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, and implemented diagnostics on both OMEGA and the National Ignition Facility. Dr. Kabadi is now an assistant scientist with the High Energy Density Experimental group at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. In this position he is continuing work on diagnostic development and conducting experiments to investigate the electronic structure of laser compressed high energy density materials.
