The 24th Topical Conference on High-Temperature Plasma Diagnostics (HTPD), hosted by the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics, was held in downtown Rochester, NY 15–19 May 2022. This biennial conference extends a long tradition in plasma instrumentation, provides an international forum to showcase the latest advances and new possibilities in the fields of magnetic confinement fusion, inertial confinement fusion, high-energy-density plasmas, space plasmas, astrophysics, as well as industrial applications. The conference had 370 registered participants, with 226 attending in person and the rest attending virtually. The success of the hybrid-format workshop would not have been possible without the enormous commitment, effort, and support from the local organizing committee; Wolfgang Theobald (Chair), Sean Regan (Co-Chair), Mike Rosenberg, Hans Rinderknecht, Jim Knauer, Steven Ivancic, and Kim Truebger. Kim Truebger and Raka Ghosh provided on-site support for the conference participants.  The conference contributions will be peer-reviewed before archiving in a special issue of Review of Scientific Instruments.
