The University of Rochester Genesee Staff Council (GSC) held its March meeting at LLE. The council was welcomed by LLE Director Chris Deeney and after the meeting council members had an opportunity to tour the facility. The GSC is a diverse group of staff from across various University offices and academic departments that facilitates direct communication between University staff and senior administration. The council provides a forum for University staff to have their voices heard and considered when decisions are being discussed that affect them. LLE’s representatives are Karen Cera and Jenny Hamson. LLE staff can reach out directly to them or anonymously through the GSC website with any concerns or suggestions. Elections for a seat on the council occur once a year and will be happening this July. Participating in the council is a rewarding experience that allows you to advocate for LLE staff and form relationships with staff across the University and with University Leadership, and LLE staff should consider running for a seat on the council. Look for an email this summer for instructions on how to nominate yourself or someone else.
