Daniel H. Barnak

Scientist

Daniel Barnak obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. His thesis centered on subscale magnetized liner inertial fusion research using the OMEGA 60 laser. He has been a scientist in the Innovative Concepts Group since its inception. His research interests are wide and include topics such as magnetized highenergydensity physics, magneto-inertial fusion, plasma spectroscopy, radiation transport, laser imprint studies for ICF, shock transport and rarefaction, laboratory astrophysics, and plasma turbulence. He has developed multiple open-source analysis tools and synthetic diagnostic codes for the XRS spectrometer, VISAR, OHRV, Dante, HERIE, MIFEDS, and proton radiography.
