New York State Senator Samra Brouk (representative of New York’s 55th District) recently visited LLE. Brouk received a tour of the OMEGA EP Laser Facility as well as the Target Fabrication, Optical Manufacturing, and Tritium facilities. She also had an opportunity to meet with several student researchers at the Laboratory. Brouk was impressed by the work that LLE does, and continues to do each day, as a part of the Rochester community and as an important contributor to New York State. University officials in attendance, supporting Senator Brouk’s visit, included VP of Research Stephen Dewhurst, Assistant Director of State Relations Mike Kennerknecht, Associate VP of Government and Community Relations Josh Farrelman, University Trustee Quincy Allen, and his wife Sonya Allen, Board of Managers VP, Memorial Art Gallery.
