CEA (Le Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) visited Optical Manufacturing (OMAN) for an update on the coating status for the Laser Mégajoule (LMJ) Laser System. OMAN has had a collaboration with CEA since 2011 to support coating production and development of high-damage threshold thin-film coatings and over 2000 optics have been processed. CEA purchased a large coating chamber that was installed at LLE in 2018, and this chamber has met all expectations to increase OMAN coating capacity and provide more schedule opportunities for research campaigns that benefit LLE and the high-peak-power laser community.
