Tributes to Past Director Include a Presidential Reception and a Dedicated Symposium

On Wednesday 1 June, University President Sarah Mangelsdorf held a reception at LLE in honor of retired Director, Dr. E. M. Campbell. Campbell has served as Director since October 2017 and retired on 31 March 2022. At the reception, he was presented with a bobblehead with his likeness on a dinosaur figure on a base with an LLE logo. On Thursday 2 June, a symposium in honor of Campbell was held, entitled “Inertial Confinement Fusion: 50 Years of Technology Advances and the Roles of Mike Campbell.” The symposium was followed by a reception open to the entire laboratory.
