Quick Shot

The Honorable Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, DOE Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and NNSA Administrator, visited LLE on the 20th of August. She was welcomed to the Laboratory by University of Rochester President Sarah Mangelsdorf and LLE Director Michael Campbell. The Administrator was briefed on the capabilities of the Laboratory, toured the OMEGA and OMEGA EP Laser Systems as well as the Optical Manufacturing laboratories, and spent valuable time speaking with students and faculty representing many of the National Laser Users’ Facility external user institutions and the University of Rochester. The visit concluded with Congressman Joseph Morelle joining the Administrator and the University President for a press briefing highlighting the value of the Laboratory and its workforce to the NNSA Stockpile Stewardship mission.
