LLE hosted the 2023 Stephen D. Jacobs Memorial talk, featuring Svetlana Lukishova speaking on Liquid Crystals in Nonlinear and Quantum Optics. Lukishova’s talk highlighted the main effects of using liquid crystals in nonlinear optics, quantum optics, and nanophotonics. The Stephen D. Jacobs Memorial talk honors Jacobs’ long and distinguished career of contributions to the field of optics. He worked at LLE for the entirety of his esteemed career.
