Radha Bahukutumbi, Distinguished Scientist in the Theory Division, has been selected as a recipient of the Fusion Power Associates (FPA) 2021 Leadership Award. This prestigious award is presented to individuals demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities in accelerating the development of fusion as a commercial power source. Dr. Bahukutumbi is being recognized by the FPA Board for her decades of outstanding contributions to the direct-drive physics program at OMEGA and the National Ignition Facility. The Board also especially notes that she has been a vocal, early leader and champion for young scientists and students with an emphasis on women and underrepresented minorities. The award will be presented at the Fusion Power Associates 42nd Annual Meeting and Symposium, Washington, D.C., 15-16 December.
