Professor Pierre Gourdain Receives NSF CAREER Award

Professor Pierre Gourdain was granted the National Science Foundation’s (NSF’s) most prestigious award in support of junior faculty, the Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, in support of his research of astrophysical plasma jets being done in collaboration with the Omega Laser Facility. The NSF CAREER award is given to promising scientists early in their careers and recognizes “outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research.” The award also comes with a federal grant toward his research and education activities.
