Quick Shot

Simran Chowdhry, a visiting undergraduate student at LLE’s HEDP Theory Group from Imperial College London, has won the Outstanding Undergraduate Poster Award at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Plasma Physics (DPP) held November 8–12 2021 in Pittsburgh, PA. Each year a panel of DPP member judges award the top presentations with Outstanding Poster Awards at the annual Student Appreciation Reception.  The diplomas are presented by the APS-DPP chair and the awardees are invited to attend the APS-DPP banquet. Chowdhry was mentored by Drs. Shuai Zhang and Suxing Hu and her poster was entitled: “Incorporating Quantum Electrons in Classical Calculations for Dense Plasmas.”
