On Monday, January 8th, LLE Pride hosted a Trans Allyship seminar with speakers Kayden Miller and Lori Cramer from the SafeZone Initiative. The SafeZone Initiative is a locally owned and operated group that travels nationally to offer allyship trainings to high schools, universities, and businesses.

Kayden shared powerful moments in which people’s allyship, or lack of it, have affected the course of his life as a trans man. With the guidance of our speakers, attendees of the seminar were able to engage in Brave Space, where all were invited to ask any and all questions, free of judgment in an effort to learn. This event emphasized the power that allies have to educate in their communities and to act as accomplices to their LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends, and family, to aid in creating a safer and more-accepting world. We hope to have the SafeZone Initiative back for more thoughtful conversations surrounding allyship and the LGBTQ+ community.
