LLE Summer High School Research Program Participant
Named Science Talent Search Scholar

Simon Narang has been designated as a Scholar in the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search for a research project he carried out last summer at LLE. Simon, shown with his advisors Mark Wittman and Dean Bredesen, is a senior at Pittsford Sutherland High School. His project title was “Modeling for Direct-Drive Fusion Implosions: Cryogenic Target Filling at Arbitrary Viewing Angles and Yield Prediction.” His work supports the new OMEGA cryogenic-target fill-tube system under development. A total of 39 students from the LLE program have now become Scholars since the program’s inception in 1989.
