With Bachelor’s (cum laude) and Master’s degrees from Cornell University in biomedical engineering, Lindsay Browning, an alum of the 2016 LLE Summer High School Research Program from Penfield High School, is a Biomedical Engineer and Research Associate in the Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School. While at LLE, Lindsay was advised by program director Stephen Craxton and her research culminated in co-authoring a scientific paper for the NIF. In addition to volunteering at Massachusetts General Hospital, Lindsay is an SPCA canine companion and dog walker and a goaltender for Team Sonnet of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association. She also participated in Cornell’s Marine Option Naval ROTC Program. “The concept of being a servant leader has persevered with me through the years, and I hope to continue public service by attending medical school and joining the military as a doctor” says Browning. “The summer high school program remains one of my most rewarding experiences and I still speak to my coworkers about it to this day.”

LLE’s Summer High School Research Program is in its 34th year. The application deadline for this summer’s program is March 13th.
