Jon Zuegel, Mike Campbell, and Roger Falcone (UC Berkeley and LLE Advisory Committee) visited Mike Perry and his team at General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) Division in San Diego. GA-EMS has developed diode-pumped solid-state laser (DPSSL) technologies for directed-energy applications up to 300-kW average power. LLE could partner with GA-EMS to develop similar laser systems for inertial fusion energy and other pulsed-laser applications
