Dr. Joseph Kilkenny Awarded Defense Programs Award of Excellence

Vice President for High-Energy-Density Physics at General Atomics and NIF Scientific Diagnostic Leader, Joe Kilkenny, has been selected to receive a Defense Programs Award of Excellence “for international leadership and development of transformational diagnostics on high-energy-density science facilities.” Kilkenny has made major contributions to experimental inertial confinement fusion for more than 38 years and is a frequent collaborator with the Laboratory for Laser Energetics.
