Quick Shot

A recent Physics Today online article detailing the commercial development of laser fusion energy has both mentioned and quoted inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experts from the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE). LLE has developed a deep experience in ICF through its support of NNSA’s Stockpile Stewardship mission. Many of the ICF science and technology elements invented or developed at LLE serve as building blocks for inertial fusion energy, as well as in other fusion applications.
