Optical Manufacturing (OMAN) Group Leader
Amy Rigatti received her B.S. degree in Optics from the University of Rochester in May 1990 and started working in the Materials Group at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics in August 1990. Her work initially focused on the process development of liquid crystal devices for high-power laser applications. While working full-time, she earned her M.S. degree in Optics from the University of Rochester in 1996. As the 60-beam OMEGA Laser System was being built, she continued to expand her role in the manufacture and/or procurement of other laser components. In 2001, she was appointed Group Leader for the Optical Manufacturing Group and continues to lead this group of 26 dedicated professionals focused on the manufacture, research, and maintenance of optical components for high-power laser systems (OMEGA, EP, NIF, CEA).
