Laura Kappy received her BA from the University of Rochester in 1998 and JD from Brooklyn Law School in 2003. After completing her bachelors, she worked with Americorps: National Civilian Community Corps and then spent a couple of years traveling the country, recruiting undergraduate students for the University of Rochester Undergraduate Admissions Office. Laura worked as an attorney for several years both in New York City as well as Albany, before returning to Rochester in 2008. Laura then returned to her passion of working with students through a position as the PhD Program Coordinator with the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. She joined the Physics and Astronomy department at the University of Rochester in 2011, continuing to run the department’s graduate program for nearly a decade. Laura then joined a team of functional analysts within University IT, working to implement the new student records system. Laura began her position as Education Program Manager at the LLE in January of 2023, building the LLE Undergraduate Education Program.
