Jonathan Peebles is a Staff Scientist at the LLE and works in the Innovative Concepts Group in the Experimental Division. He is the principal investigator for the MIFEDS (magneto-inertial fusion electrical discharge system) and OHRV (Omega high resolution velocimeter) diagnostics at the LLE. His research interests currently involve carrying out experiments to measure and mitigate laser imprint, develop high–magnetic–field experimental platforms, and measure anomalous electric and magnetic fields in laser–plasma interactions. His dissertation examined the acceleration and trajectory of super-ponderomotive electrons using high-intensity lasers in underdense plasma. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2017.
