Dr. David Alexander Chin is an Assistant Scientist in the High-Energy-Density Physics Experiments group. He received his B.A. degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2017 and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Rochester in 2023. His thesis work focused on using x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy to characterize the behavior of iron oxides at planetary core conditions. His current research focuses on studying the atomic and electronic structure changes of high-energy-density materials.
