The annual Omega Laser Users Group (OLUG) Workshop is a collaborative forum hosted by the LLE that brings together members of the Omega user community to provide updates, share research, foster collaboration, and shape the future of high-energy-density physics.
This annual event highlights cutting-edge experiments and theoretical advances enabled by the Omega Laser Facility, while also providing a platform for students, early-career researchers, and senior scientists to exchange ideas and insights. With interactive sessions, scientific presentations, and opportunities for networking, the OLUG Workshop is designed to strengthen partnerships and accelerate innovation in laser-driven science and technology.
2026 Workshop Details
Registration
- Workshop will be held in hybrid form.
- Registration fee for in-person: $300
- Registration fee for Student/Post-doc: $100
- Registration fee for virtual participation: No charge
- Wednesday, 29 April Banquet: Included in registration cost
- All attendees must register (see registration link). The Zoom link will be provided only upon completion of registration, and it will be closer to the start of the workshop.
Registration and poster abstract submission deadline is April 6, 2026.
Student and post-doc financial support is available courtesy of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Please see the Student Support tab for details and the application.
Student Support
NNSA will provide support for participation in this workshop for selected students and postdocs planning to present a poster and participate in meeting discussions. Students and postdocs employed by LLE are not eligible and will not be considered. Other local students and postdocs can apply for limited support to cover their registration expense.
Students and postdocs requesting support should submit their application no later than March 6, 2026.
For students and postdocs requesting support, a letter of recommendation from your advisor is required and should be emailed to olug@lle.rochester.edu no later than March 6, 2026. See the application form below for the required statement.
Poster Session
Deadline for poster abstract submissions is April 6, 2026. Please use the abstract template as a guide when preparing your submission. (Be sure to include your name in the file before sending)
Poster Presentations:
- Each presenter in the poster session will be provided with a 3’ x 5’ wide poster board. We will provide push pins (thumb tacks) for your use in displaying your poster presentation.
- The poster session will be conducted in person only.
