LLE’s 33rd Summer High School Research Program challenged 16 high school students have the opportunity to engage with nationally and internationally recognized scientists plus work with scientific data and tools in a world-class research laboratory.
The students worked full time for eight weeks and presented their results at a symposium in the laboratory at the end of the summer. A total of 415 students from 55 high schools have now participated in the program since its inception in 1989, including 14 in 2019 and 8 in a virtual program in 2021.
The program took a break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 16 participants in the 2022 program are shown here with program director, Stephen Craxton.
