Omega Laser User Group
OLUG
The Omega Laser Users Group (OLUG) serves as a vital community for scientists, researchers, and students utilizing the Omega Laser Facility. OLUG fosters collaboration and communication among its members, the facility, and the broader scientific community.
Its primary mission is to enhance research opportunities by identifying and advocating for improvements in the facility’s capabilities. Through its annual workshops and meetings, OLUG provides a platform for users to present findings, propose advancements, and engage in discussions with the experts at LLE.

Nurturing the Next-Generation Scientist
In addition to advancing scientific research, OLUG plays a pivotal role in developing the next generation of scientists. Students, postdocs, and early-career scientists are given opportunities to showcase their work in an interactive and supportive environment. The annual workshop, generously supported by funding agencies like the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), also facilitates networking and skill development through poster presentations and informal discussions.
By fostering collaboration across institutions and countries, OLUG strengthens the global scientific community while ensuring that the Omega Laser Facility remains a cornerstone for innovation and discovery.
