Access Our World-Leading Research Facility

Each year, we proudly welcome guests and collaborators from around the world—including researchers, students, and community members—who come eager to explore and engage with us.

Your safety and security are our highest priorities. That’s why LLE maintains a carefully monitored and layered security environment, combining physical safeguards with controlled visitor access. This ensures a safe, secure, and productive space for research and collaboration.

Whether you’re here to conduct an experiment, join a guided tour, or become part of our team, we’re here to make your visit enjoyable from start to finish.

Users

If you’re visiting LLE to conduct an experiment or perform research, please complete the Visitor Information form before your arrival and bring a valid form of identification. Depending on your work, additional safety training may be required. See the Omega Users page for links and resources and reach out to your LLE contact for help.

Foreign Nationals

Please complete the Visitor Information Form at least 45 days before you arrive. This gives us enough time to process your visit through the Department of Energy’s Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS).

There are additional steps you’ll need to take to receive approval for access. Without this clearance, we won’t be able to grant you access to the facility.

Meeting Attendees

If you’re visiting LLE for a meeting, please complete the Visitor Information Form prior to your arrival and bring a valid form of identification. This will help streamline your check-in process. If you have any specific questions about your visit, feel free to reach out to your LLE host for assistance.

Students

If you’re a student visiting LLE for an internship or educational program, please complete the Visitor Information Form before your arrival and bring a valid form of identification. Depending on the nature of your visit, additional forms or safety requirements may apply.

Students who are foreign nationals must submit the form at least 45 days prior to your visit in order to enter LLE. Be sure to check with your program coordinator or LLE host for any specific instructions.
