Varchas Gopalaswamy Appointed Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Varchas Gopalaswamy, LLE Scientist in the Integrated Modeling Group, has been appointed to the position of Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Gopalaswamy, who has worked at LLE since 2016 during graduate school, was awarded the 2024 EPS–PPCF Sylvie Jacquemot Early Career Prize earlier this year for his impressive contributions to the development of statistical modeling used in inertial confinement fusion experiments. The prize was presented to him at last week’s EPS Conference on Plasma Physics in Salamanca, Spain. Congratulations!
