Deyan Mihaylov received his Ph.D. in physics from North Dakota State University in 2019, where he studied the excited-state properties of semiconductor nanostructures using many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) based on density functional theory (DFT) simulation results. He also has a Masters degree in physics from North Dakota State (2012) and a Bachelors degree in physics from Minnesota State University, Moorhead (2010). Deyan joined LLE in 2019 as an assistant scientist. His research interests are focused on application of finite-temperature DFT and nonequilibrium Greens function methods to improve the description of matter under extreme conditions.
