DEI Council Initiatives

The LLE Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council was formed in December 2019 to create a direct line of communication to senior management to affect tangible changes at LLE. Initiatives include:

Discussion topics have included Change Theory, Shared Leadership, Institutional Norms, Story Telling, and Recruitment Pathways
  • DEI Group Discussions – facilitate small group meetings lab-wide to inform and discuss DEI and the benefits for the laboratory and greater community
  • LLE Job Fair – provide an exploration into science and technology related to career planning for communities of color (2021)
  • UR/LLE is a member of HBCU Connect for the purpose of advertising open positions to people of color
