Alexis Vogt Awarded IEEE Photonics Society Technical Skills Educator Award

Alexis Vogt was awarded the IEEE Photonics Society  2020 Technical Skills Educator Award “For transforming the optical systems technology program at MCC into a national model through teaching, mentoring, leadership, fundraising and outreach.” Dr. Vogt received her B.S. and  Ph.D. in Optics from from the University of Rochester  Institute of Optics where her research focused on polarization engineering, coherence theory, and microscopy. The award is given to recognize educators specializing in bringing technician and technical skills training in photonics to traditionally underserved communities. Dr. Vogt is shown here presenting at the 2018 Annual Stephen D. Jacobs Memorial Talk at LLE.
