Congratulations to LLE scientist Benjamin Webb, whose paper “Temporal contrast degradation from mid-spatial-frequency surface error on stretcher marks” has recently been chosen for inclusion in Spotlight on Optics. Only two papers from among the scores of articles published across Optica Publishing Group’s journals are highlighted each month, making this a very prestigious selection. Webb works in LLE’s Laser Technology Development Group, and his research focuses on developing high‐power femtosecond laser systems based on chirped‐pulse amplification, coherent combination, and other novel techniques.
