Ignition Red Team Review: The NNSA charged a Red Team review to “Determine the efficacy of NIF for ignition and credible physics-scaling to multi-megajoule yields for all methods of ignition.” Several years of work and review will culminate in a written report detailing supporting evidence, technology assessment, and uncertainty quantification.
Academic Community Forum: NNSA invites interested academic partners to a panel discussion of the Ignition 2020 findings to date, the outstanding fundamental science questions of ignition, and the role of contribution by the academic scientific community in future directions

Prospects for High-Gain IFE at The Royal Society 2nd–3rd March 2020

The scientific, technological, and programmatic evolution in ICF since the 2013 U.S. Report "An Assessment of the Prospects for IFE", motivates the Hooke Discussion Meeting "Prospects for High-Gain IFE", to be held 2–3 March 2020 at the Royal Society London. The aim is provide expert input to EUROFusion to update the European IFE RoadMap and expert advice on preparations for an IFE demonstration plant R&D roadmap. We have assembled many of the world's leading experts and policy advocates and warmly welcome you to participate in the discussion sessions. A poster session is available for scientific presentations.
